Hungry fingers digging faster
Nails ground ragged and torn
On the asphalt burning so

No relief here never here
For those in need

Palms and knees bloodied
Scraped split and worn
From the pathetic crawl

Beg no more this street
Or its no shelter sun

Just the clash of broken teeth
Feeding only the scorn
Of those that search on and on

Pain well portrayed but I feel excluded, wondering why. A lot of power in a small piece. 5

This is a beautiful poem wD

even if it is painful to read. But we write what we need to write, I understand. Very smooth writing and I really like the gentle use of rhyme and near rhyme, the last two lines especially.

Thank you for the read. :-)
