Creation of Mask (You Watch)
By Sarah Davies

You watch

Creation of the painted masquerade
This elaborate façade

You follow the intricate details
Mesmerized by her actions

Fixated by elegant brush strokes
The current of the mascara brush

Wonder etched deep in your expression
The beauty shines from within her

The natural craved
The one within

Fingers aching
Touch desired

Yearning to trace curved lips
To smoothly flow over her cheeks

Touch is denied
Only allowed to view the mask

The creation of mask to hide behind
To keep the outside out…

But not letting anyone else in
