I woke up in a darkened room
A cool summer's breath caresses my face
The moonlight shimmers though open French doors
A familiar apparition appears before me glowing in the light
Wrapped in a blanket of white chiffon smiling gently

The memories flood into my being
I remember now
How we came to be in this Château
A thousand miles away from the nearest world
Away from the monotonous pain of everyday life

I never knew the rapture of such a moment
We explored the crevices of our flesh
Measured the depth of our incandescent souls
As we danced the dance of lovers immemorial
To a rhythm only we can know

The cries of joy, the peals of laughter
Fill the night and beyond
A touch here and a tongue there
An urgent demand for a special ministration
Moving, exalting, inexorably to the peak

We move faster and faster
All is quiet now save the squeak of the springs
And the chirp of the crickets outside
Our eyes are locked together unblinking
Looking into each other and beyond

Suddenly we come together in a crescendo
A cascade of desire finally released
Our bodies intertwined and locked in time
We lay there catching our breaths
A sudden wave of lethargy sweeps over

You come back to our feather bed
The chiffon floats away as if taken by the wind
I begin to speak but you shake your head
Words are not necessary
When the dance is beginning again.
