Feelings bombard heightened senses,
twisted intentions force response
to political fractures.
Collapsing bridge of sanity
devours hope for futures
unencumbered by civilized dementia.

Simplistic hope rests in sleight of hand
maneuverings, quests for power,
gentle smiling overtones, spin.
You coax, cajole with perfumed
promises, burying past and
current connections, over-dubbed reality.

Society teeters on the brink,
false convictions convince not;
we lie in beds of tortured myths,
praying for divine redemption.
Our loneliness kills feeble attempts
to escape seductive traps of illusion.

Fear-bombs fall on hope, ideality,
its fallout, insidious lethargy,
poisons only heart’s inspirations.
Trapped, we await only release,
fleshed out in private communion,
as concrete slowly encases soft feet…
