Cufflinks slowly removed
Gently placed on the arm of a chair.
Sitting quietly on top a removed overcoat.
A reminder of a more dignified era,
A more romantic place,
And of things to come.

A smirk.
A simple greeting.
A tender passionate kiss.
With a tug on my hair
And a whispered command
Things move to new heights,
With out leaving where they were before.

A gentle hand.
A firm grasp.
A slow release more powerful than one with force.
And cufflinks waiting patiently,
In another room.

A hot shower
And a warm embrace
Yet things still remain as they always have been,
Nothing more, nothing less.

The tedious task
Of donning the garments we must.
Garments society has given us:
Shirt.
Pants.
Tie.
And
Cufflinks.
