Cupid's Arrow

Once my heart strings were pulled
Cupid's arrow a flight once more
A target not to be missed
my lips free to be warmly kissed

A wondrous array of colours
every shade of red to be seen
was the light headedness I was feeling
and the love that might have been

Cupid's death was short and simple
when his arrow broke in two
the tattered hearts he left behind
with every breath were few and few.
