A mix of pain and pleasure
coming in a rhythm of cycles,
drawing me into a trance,
spellbinding me to full focus
on the act of surrender.

Nothing but the bed below,
as I rock my hips back and forth
while my body gets tighter and tighter,
until I think I might scream.

I've forgotten everything,
and can't hear my husband's voice
until the flow succumbs to the ebb
of this rush of energy
flooding and assaulting me.

I submit to my body,
and finally, my body
rewards me, amply.

The head of a child emerges,
followed by the body, and a newborn cry.
Finally, the union,
the seduction, the surrender,
which was started
ten months before,
has been completed.
