In the early light of dawn, you come to me
Your face softened by sleep
And your mouth warm.
Our bodies touch with sparks of electricity
That ignites our fire
And fuels our passion,
As we clasp each other close
In the age-old dance of love.
Our words of love wash between us
Murmured against soft lips and damp skin
Fingers strumming in perfect rhythm
Bringing the beat of our hearts to a peak.
The silence disturbed by our breathing
And moaning
And finally, our strangled cries
As we each find blissful release
Only to fall gently back to reality:
The reality of the alarm clock;
The reality of responsibility;
And the reality that tomorrow morning
In the soft light of dawn,
You will reach for me
And, once again, we shall dance.
