she dances
a vision of beauty and grace
only slightly hampered
by the hint of a limp
she says she fell
i have my doubts

faster now
spinning
twirling
i wish she wore a dress
or a long skirt
something to float around her
like in the old movies
ginger rodgers and fred astaire
but she always wears pants
and shirts with long sleeves
and i wonder
who does she think she's fooling
i want to tell her how this will all end
that no one says i love you with a fist
but cassandra's curse is now my own
and she won't listen

faster still
grace replaced with frenzy
she is a dervish
dust devil
as she dances to the music of her ruin
a fake smile
plastered across split lips
vacant eyes
barely seen
swollen almost shut
i want to save her
be the white knight
but first she must want to be saved

spinning faster
just a blur
all blacks and blues
completely lost to the dance

the music ceases
as she stumbles
drops to the ground...
all is still
and the silence says more
than any words could
the curtain falls

you did a nice job with this poem

The first part of it really captured my attention:

she dances

a vision of beauty and grace

only slightly hampered

by the hint of a limp

she says she fell

i have my doubts

faster now

spinning

twirling

i wish she wore a dress

or a long skirt

something to float around her

like in the old movies

ginger rodgers and fred astaire
