I feel like one of those dancing chickens …
Everything I do on the outside
Seems to come as if by magic.
All the juggling, the dancing,
The coping,
Keeping a steady rhythm
Wowing the crowds.
But to me, all I feel
Is the constant heat
Of more pressure.
Pressure to be perfect
To not lose the pace.
All so at the end
I might receive
That tiny crumb
Of love that feeds me.
And keeps me stepping
Back on that hotplate
Every single day
To do yet another
Magic dance.
