The night is a dark lover
Who comes only briefly, then leaves again
With promises never kept.
I see the shadow of centuries in your eyes.
Take me to the secret garden-
Let me satisfy your lust for blood and flesh.
I will drink of the sacramental wine,
And lie down on the sacrificial table
As I bear my skin for your dark kiss.
Let our blood be one,
And I will walk with you
For an eternity.
