Dark Prayer

He has taught me to beg (Don't forget me)
He has taught me to burn for him (Please remember)
He has taught me my true nature (Let your pride warm you at night)
Now demon I ask of you to help me keep serving him with my very soul
Even though he refuses my presence
Even though he refuses my devotion
Even though he refuses my love I belong to him already with my entire being
Just as he asked for.

Demon help me keep myself alive; this self that has been touched by his devious but most genuine intent
Help me feed this dark connection that is not supposed to be
When night falls the embers of my beacon shine all the brighter, dancing blood red.
He gave me peace with myself.

It does not matter if he knows of my trials
It does not matter if he feigns not to care about my feelings
It does not matter if he refuses to show his own black passion for me.

This prayer this devotion is mine to give
It is mine to nurture
It is mine to live fully
Let me love him darkly forevermore.

I am his equal. Let him know!
Let him burn with me.
Let him hear the call as now it is his turn to follow my lead
Let him discover his mirror image and smile.
This one time we will switch roles when I ask him in a whisper of a breeze from afar to bow to my will.

For when our fingers touch light and shadow will merge
And our separate darknesses will become one.
