I sit peering into the darkness of the night.
Watching and waiting for you to come back to me.
To embrace me and whisper that everything's going to be alright.
But I know that my fantasy will never be.
Since you are gone from this life.
It cuts deep into my heart like a double-edged knife.
I cannot figure out how the pain will ever dull and fade.
Seems it grows deeper and more sorrowful everyday.
I close my tear-filled eyes every night.
Hoping not to have to open them again in the morning light.
