It's spring time
But it's a cold day.
Oh sweet daughter of mine
Why'd you go away?
While you grew
Always thought I'd outlive you.
The sun is out and it's almost May
But it's a cold day.

Just when you think everything's sublime
A sudden event makes your world gray.
Now the stairs of heaven you climb.
While on Earth I continue to stay.
We'll meet again up in the skies
For now I'll have to improvise.
I know I must be strong, I must be okay
But it's a cold day.

The aching sadness is etched in every line. Beautiful and heart-breaking.
