Dawn

Down – down the moon – and when the dawn,
Dank dawn, announced by birds and greys
Grows louder, more insistent and my feet
Are fast asleep – I stay awake for fear
Small sounds from close beside escape my ear –
The quilt is penetrated by chill morning
And thought I'm cold I just won't heed the warning
Curled up against my love. The wooden bed,
Hard, chill abode seems swaying and the floor
Alive in gentle motion, almost wrecking
My good intentions with its slow, sure rocking
When suddenly my love half-wakes – she swings
A lazy leg my way and plucks my strings.

Indeed!

Us Dawns are like that...lazily seductive, and completely irresistible! :)
