destined for this corner
ever since
the first wail
from my mouth
by the end
of the first decade
the idols once worshipped
then extended invitation
to watch the days pass by
ahead of me always
in all things
my tombstone
will be painted
spray painted
with them on the wall

gladiators' academies
and dropout factories
keeping a watchful eye
during petty crimes
my education
graduation day
came in the eighth grade
now
always looking back
only living 2 days
my first and last
on the block

sunrises and sunsets
blistering heat
to falling leaves
to crunch of snow
to sweet smell of rain
washing all the grime
into the sewer
ever vigilant
standing tall
on my guard
on the corner

Lots of interesting images

and a theme that comes across, but not quite strong enough to me. Maybe just my preference but I'd like to see more narrative connected writing that flows better. These lines read too disconnected from one another to me, but there's good imagery and authenticity there.
