Dear Santa,

I don't want any Legos this year
Well, let's be honest here; I still want Legos, obviously
But I can get them on my own these days well enough
Give the ones you've got to a kid whose parents can't

I don't want any whiskey either
I still crave the taste of a Jack with a beer back, certainly
But I don't need it I don't want it I don't need it, I don't
Give some cider, milk, or clean water to those without it

I don't want any more axes
I have dozens of blades in the house big and small, yes,
My collection ever growing, but I don't need you for that
Give some books of adventures to kids who'd like them

I'm not asking for anything
I am alive and that's enough, there're others who need
Give them things they don't have, that they are missing
Give them peace and love, happiness and some warmth

Signed,

++Happy Holidays to everyone, whatever holiday it may be. If it's isn't a holiday season for you, then Merry Nothing In Particular Save For A Nice Time Of The Year (why isn't Hallmark making those cards? I'd send the flying fuck-nagels out of those things year-round to a bunch of people), and I still hope it's a good season for you regardless. Enjoy your family, your friends, and/or the company of those around you. If there's no family, no friends, no one around to spend time with, don't let it get to you. There are people out here who love you and think about you and are willing to talk with you to let you know exactly that. No matter how unfair and uncaring and pointlessly cruel the world may look, feel, and even be at times, the bad stuff doesn't last forever. If nothing else, trust me on that. The bad stuff doesn't last forever, even if sometimes it feels like it might. So, from me to you, a toast to peace, love, and compassion. The only other toast I know is ‘over the teeth, past the gums, look out liver, here it comes!' but I think that really works better around the New Year's part of the celebration. Thank you all for being out there when I needed it the most. wD++
