These colours merely emblems – they won't lend
a grain of insight to the probing eye
but fool it into thinking it perceives

pure order in dumb things: this spring's green veil
will but obscure your silent death, impress
new growth on minds where such new growth is not

and speak of youth to ears too old to know
while yellow sun won't warm the jealous heart
by its grey contrast – no more hope against

the burning heat that flares beneath blue skies,
that touched up each detail, sharp and bright,
and paints fresh joys this illness has proved lies.

I have to admit, Demure

after pondering a while this one is just way over my head. That's on me for sure. Love the third stanza as i could relate so well. I would love to understand it though - it draws me.
