Beautiful be Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant!"

Beautiful be buffalo snorting and cavorting around ol faithful!

Beautiful be dainty white cups of Indonesian espresso!
(but death is in the wind for me)

Beautiful be the indian summer we're having in K Falls, Oregon

Beautiful be Abe Lincoln!

Beautiful be the nesting owls that screech
as I read Romeo and Juliet!
(but death is in the wind for me)

Beautiful be hawaiian coconuts!

Beautiful be snow falling on a slow river
loping through a pine forest!

Beautiful be the licks of Jimi Hendrix!
(but death is in the wind for me)

Beautiful be the thai Elephants
one can ride up Doi Suthop mountain!

Beautiful be the peace sign
that I drew in wet cement!

Beautiful be that juniper tree
lit up with berries like christmas lights!
and beautiful these tears inspired by John Gorka!
(but death is in the wind for me)

Beautiful be this epic lance ,
which is really a "bic" pen!

Beautiful be folks all around the world
warming up to the environmental mess!

Beautiful be my daily orange!
(but death is in the wind for me)

Beautiful be my Herculean dad
who treats me with such compassion!!!

Beautiful be this 15 year old fantastically voluptuous blonde babe!

Beautiful be hard-working fishermen!!
(but death is in the wind for me)

Beautiful be that 20-something African cat
who beats on his leather drum on Portland street corners!

Beautiful be doves and quail

Beautiful be that rhino-horned fox who plays a mean blues sax!

Beautiful be the land
and beautiful the sea,
Beautiful be the morning sun
and beautiful the starry frontiers

But I’ve drunk too freely from the bottle
lived too often at full-throttle
and perhaps seen things too cynically
so Zounds!!:

!!!DEATH IS IN THE WIND FOR ME!!!

Living fast!

A man who has seized the tree of life and shook it for all it's worth finally admits that death is now likely in his future. Almost mystical as the visual images are spewed forth of what has been - but soon will be lost. Wonderful Poem. Well crafted!
