Developed at the edge,
firm roots deceive;
they bring out wilder tones,
evocative reminders,
with distinct advantages
over softer ventures;
She will never get rid
of the sense of abandonment;
nor does she want to;
but, in the drizzle,
she gets wet as quickly
as deceptively firm roots.
