He sits his wounded bedroom eyes down
Looks at me and says

You left me alone with my demons,
You never should have left me

I've got some news,
demons are the only things
that never leave

They were there before we met,
watching from the closet while we fucked
waiting in the car while we picked up pizza

And if I had stayed with you,
If I had fallen asleep,
You would have been
sharing the bed not with me
But your demons.

And if you tell me never leave me
Stay with me this night and always
Does that mean I get to take my place
With all your demons?

He sits his wounded bedroom eyes down
Looks at her and says

You left me alone with my demons,
You never should have left me

I've got some news,
We demons are the only things
that never leave

And when you’re done with her,
And she’s asleep… slide over
Cause I'm gonna come out of this closet
Get into bed next to you
and we are going to dance all night.
