On the fence between desire and honor
She sits alone and teeters on the brink
Patience and time all that's required
For her to take that final leap

In another time and another place
There'd be no question of the fall
In his arms she'd be, into his eyes she'd gaze
Falling in love in no time at all

He offers his hands up to her
To help her off the fence
In his arms she longs to be
And damn the consequence

Longing and desire go hand in hand
Like promises made and promises kept
On her left hand lies a golden wedding band
A constant reminder of once being swept

To the future she looks trying hard to see
Where her actions today might lead
To follow her heart, to let it be free
Would cause a commotion you wouldn't believe

So here she still sits, on her fence
Between her heart's desire and her word of honor

Her family and friends she'll have to convince
That it's not fair to stay any longer

It's a tough choice to make when you discover that the love you thought you had was but a pale reflection of what you've now found to be true passionate love!

Very...

nice artwork...and I'm so glad it wasn't a wire fence. But then she may have made a decision sooner if it was..haha.

Equivocation.

The age old struggle between honor and desire. The heart wants what the heart wants ~ damn the consequence. Attractive pastel art work enhance this lovely rendering.
