There are times when I wander
Through the valley of despair
The echoes of words unspoken
Lest someone hear – resound
Like falling mountains against
The thousand ears inside my soul
Screaming pain – relentless
Crashing against the foundations
Of my being. Whispering
I implore … whispered
Gestures reaching out …
Beaten to death by the deafening
Sounds of turmoil within
The hearts and minds
Of fellow wanderers.
Tears streaming – digging
Their paths through the caked
Mud of yesterday covering my face.
Sightless eyes looking into a future
Without hope.
Being? - Tired
