You'll break my heart
Delicate and strong
As spider silk
Or damselfly wings
I know you will
Just as I know intimately
And with perfect understanding
Why the moth seeks the flame.
Aura of heat mimics life
Dancing danger to absolve
The disappointment of the cocoon
With reflected radiance
When you break my heart
Unknowing, unintended as fire
I will die
Having held the light.
