Painted faces stare
At the sweetly tarnished glare
Reflecting upon my face
Concealed within this place
A faded pastel glow
This colored land will show
How simpletons and thieves
Have come to believe
In things like hell and secrets concealed
And the emptiness revealed
A talent for distaste
Fate's kiss so passionate, yet chaste
A touch carressingly sweet
A devil's paradise and I meet
Sin counselling hate
Faith overcoming fate
Bearing the fruit of our lives
As desolate and demised
Sanctioning life itself
While this ice maiden melts
While the light inside of her shines
To the willing and the kind
To the forsaken and the ignored
To the hurt and the torn
For this light to shine within
Her lair of forgiven sins
For her heart to melt the flame
For the truth to crash the blame
If the reality is your dream
Let the dreams see the seams
Where you've sewn your life back up
Where it went to perfect from corrupt
When you gave in and cried
When you claimed she had lied
When all you needed was a friend
She was there until the bitter end
This molten, melted maiden filled with hope
Was there for you when you could not cope
Was there for you when you tried to give in
Was there to forgive every sin
Was there to watch when you were born
Was there to watch you laugh and mourn
She was there to heal the pain
When you lost what took a lifetime to gain
When you screamed unto the pale blue sky
When you gave in to the need to ask why
When your world suddenly came crashing down
When you stood in the ruins to look around
For any strand of hope to climb
For one more second out of time
For anyone to understand
When all they did was reprimand
How you look, act, and speak
When all of your secrets began to leak
When they spilled to drown the hope you had
When everything seemed to make you mad
She was there through thick and thin
She waited for you to begin again
She held you close when you were burned
She taught you things that you needed to learn
She let you live, she let you die
She let you drop because you can fly
She let you sing honesty's song
To put your hope where it belongs
To let your eyes see the way
To live your life day by day
To build your dreams with your own hands
To give in to your soul's demands
She showed you how to slow down and see
Just how much you really need
You deserve much more than you give yourself
She let you freeze to see you melt
To watch you forgive what you used to do
She watched you grow from old to new
Then she let you take her place
To help someone else along the way...
