Did you hear me calling you in the middle of the night

I dreamt that you had left me, woke up in a terrible fright

I looked around and you were gone, I was left all alone

My world was shattered no reason to live, I may as well turned into stone

There was no reason there was no rhyme, it really made no sense

I just laid there, my mind was numb, stuck in a fog so dense

Tears were running down my cheeks, the fear was real inside

Knowing if I lost you the pain would never subside

Looking over and seeing you laying there

Put my mind and heart at ease, hope you know how much I care

I sat there watching you for what seemed like hours, protecting you in your sleep

Praying that you recognize my love for you so deep

The thought that you could one day be gone, breaks my fragile heart

They may as well sentence me to death by poison darts

Slowly sleep came again, off to never ever land

And when I woke I reached over and held your loving hand

I laid and wondered to myself in the early morning light

Did you hear me calling you in the middle of the night
