Digoxin starts my day easy, with aspirin to help
Metropol close follows 50mg
I hate the morning
Reminds Me I am dying
Day by day
Leaving everything I want and love
Quickly
Faster than I ever wanted.

You ask Me to take them
To keep around for ever
But I cant.
I am broken
Unable to function like I used
Unable to keep you happy
To satisfy you
As Man or intellect.

L-Thyroxine begins the evening
Walfarin to thin My blood to water
And Metropol,
Always Metropol 5o mg
Constantly keeping the ticking even
Or at least steady
For now
For you.

You want Me to take them
To be a constantcy in life
Like a familiar book
To read and quote
Nurturing
Educating.

I take them willingly enough
As finances and pharmacy allow
Hoping for a miracle
That you will realize My fragility
Before it is too late
And time rips all hope
Pitilessly from My clutches.

Harrowing

This is a harrowing picture and beautifully done via reference to the medecines. Really good that you then switch the the partner's attitude. Subtle and engrossing.

I sort of hope that this is fiction and not your actual situation. If the latter, may I give you my best wishes.
