Distance will not change our friendship,
You will always be dear to me.
Distance will not change my love for you,
I will love you still.

Distance will not lessen the wonderful memories,
For our time together will remain in my heart forever.
Distance will not dull the passion,
A love such as mine cannot pass from existence.

Distance will ease your worry,
You will no longer have to take care of me.
Distance will offer you peace and quiet,
For you will have the protection your heart needs.

Distance will dull the pain of departure,
You will move on to other loves.
Distance will grant you the solitude you desire,
And you will have the life you need.

Distance will take time to understand,
I do not wish to cause you more pain.
Distance will not grant me freedom,
You will be with me always even as I set you free.

~~

Distracting element is the

Repeat use of "distance."

Using the first stanza as an example, where you write:

Distance will not change our friendship,

You will always be dear to me.

Distance will not change my love for you,

I will love you still.

I would suggest you try something like:

Distance will not change our friendship,

You will always be dear to me;

It will not change my love for you,

I will love you still.

Follow this pattern throughout and it should be a stronger read - at least, so it seems to me.
