Mystic Aboriginals
blow handprints on cliff walls and
paint crocodiles in Dreamtime.

You soar in God's blue heaven
while I walk green, pagan earth.

Gleaming pharaohs of Egypt
take sisters as wives and dwell
in eternal underground.

You are purest intellect
while I am beast of the wood.

Bronzed children of the jaguar
play the ball game of death and
stack the skulls in jungle rows.

Prayers rise from your sweet lips
while mine drip with fresh, warm blood.
