DOWN BY THE RIVER, THE AIR SO FRESH AND SWEET,
A COMFORTABLE PLACE TO SIT BACK AND PROP UP YOUR FEET.

DOWN BY THE RIVER, THE TREES TREMBLE AND SWAY,
THE SETTING SUN SIGNALLING THE END OF THE DAY.

DOWN BY THE RIVER, THE SILENCE SO RICH AND MELLOW,
AN INTIMATE VIEW OF THE CITY, AFIRE WITH WHITE, GRAY AND YELLOW.

DOWN BY THE RIVER, THE INSECTS FLUTTER AND STALK,
A COMFY BENCH HERE AND THERE, A GREAT PLACE TO SIT AND TALK.

DOWN BY THE RIVER, A SAFE AND QUIET PLACE,
TO MEET A NEW FRIEND, FINALLY FACE TO FACE.
