One way once, and than once more
The clouds open with a thunderous roar
See the wounds all red and tore
     War is no game.

Night to dusk, morning to dawn
From the side attacks the pawn
Further out is here and gone
On my heart, strong and tame.

From afar I see a light
With no question true and bright
Yet in the day it brings the night
     Right, can you truly say?

Until I see the right from wrong
And way my days can seem so long
With this I drag my heart along
     Strong in my narrow way.

Gashing wounds will open wide
The day the sun and moon collide
Were hearts can have no place to hide
     Aside from Other’s lies

With howling pain inside the head
Close the doors of bitter dread
And when its all done and said
Red blood and than it  dies

Darkness falls into the day
This time its not a game to play
Is life so worth a price to pay
To slay your conscience to defend?

Release the inner hurt and ache
Mend the love, the hearts that break
For all who sleep some day must wake
     To make the thunder end.
