Hands touch, lips taste
As we dine on this embrace
Eyes sparkle in blacklite mist
Love not lust makes us move slow
We crawl at each other's body
Trying to get inside each other's soul
But closer still is needed to quench the thirst
We die then, in each other's arms together
We hold each other body and soul as one
We love each other and so it sets us free
<~~>
Then awakened, just a dream
In truth you rolled over and turned your back on me
And I curled up into a little ball, feeling lonely and empty
When I lay there awake, laying beside you, not with you
I wonder what has happened to me, to you, to us
That we would let each other turn our backs to one another
If not in fact, doing it together, is this the only thing we share?
A need for love, yet a regret in taking the first step
I try now to roll you over, trying not to wake you
So that I might wrap my arms around you
But instead a muffled groan, which means not now, almost not ever
All the joy of holding you in my arms, not achieved
And a pillow ridden with tears is all the comfort I can give myself
For I pity myself for not holding you, an angel laying beside me
Yet not next to me, not with me, even at only three inches away
In truth we are miles apart, with me glazing at you and you looking at the wall
Seemingly with me trying to take one inch closer, as you take two hearts apart
And as I lose myself in this void of despair
I can only say I love you, please love me...
