my hand reaches and grasps air
on the second try I find
you, fingertips brushing hair
my eyes open to see light
radiating from your smile
at that point I just know
that I've got to stay a while
I swim slowly to your perch
if erring, on caution's side
my fingers slip through your locks
as you offer me a ride
I ask you where we're headed
and you toss a sideways glance
you think on this a moment
replying, "deliverance"
nodding like I understand
I press myself to your back
we take off like a bullet
one that's gone all out of whack
you shimmer and you shimmy
through depths of watery clouds
your beauty overwhelming
utter gracefulness abound
the siren of the ocean
my goddess in the heavens
we reach our destination
but our journey does not end
reaching for me with one arm
laughter tinkling like bells
staring into icy eyes
that could melt the depths of hell
I utter one word and smile
my lips call out "nirvana"
you purr "I can take you there"
smiling like the Madonna
our bodies become as one
while I draw breath from your sighs
your sweet song calls to my heart
your caresses to my thighs
when our dance is completed
and my soul can drink no more
soft kisses touch my eyelids
and suddenly there's a door
"just think of me" you whisper
"and you'll always find this place"
this dream I shall remember
with the ghost of your embrace
