A cloudy mass,
Your subconscious unfurled,
It’s too bad it doesn’t last,
Your escape window to a new world.

It’s all in the mind,
But you won’t remember much of it.
Its something you can’t find,
No matter how hard you search for it.

You’ll never know how important it is,
Or how often it’s there, making an earning.
It starts in your thoughts, doing its ’biz,
And it takes you along in its journey.

It can be so many things,
Fearful, exciting, motivating, or wild.
The array of emotion that it brings,
Compassionate, serene, beautiful, and mild.

It’s what you are, and wish you could be,
Written in texture, depth and perception.
It’s everything you don’t normally see,
Put in a story of images, sound, and imagination.

It can help you cope from day to day,
Give you hope to be something more,
Or help you hold your fears at bay,
A short vacation, that’s what it’s for.

It’s such an enjoyable part of life,
White and golden, like the rays of dawn.
Breaking the chains of the cycle of strife,
And bringing youth to some long gone.

All glittery and new,
Each one reborn again each night.
It’s a major part of you,
To some it’s a guiding light.

And yet just like the frost,
In the morning it’s dissolved away.
Once again most if it is lost,
And yet only the memory can stay.
