Dreams Never Dared

Like staring into the morning sun
Through foggy eyes
Her burning vision haunted his dreams
Her presence possessed his spirit
In dreams never dared dreamt

The agony in which his love was written
Covered the pages of his heart
Over time the edges tatter and the ink runs
With the tears of dreams never dared dreamt

His hunger for her touch never satisfied
His thirst for her kiss never quenched
He longed only to embrace her soul
But only in dreams never dared dreamt

His heart would always be hers
But at the end, when the tired old man
Speaks, with his final breath
Her name
The wind will fall silent
And the stars in the heavens
Will scream in mourning at the tragedy

That her heart would only be his
In dreams never dared dreamt
