Dreams of apparitions

you are there
I see you
in a world of darkness
candles your only light
I move towards you
a shadow among shadows
till at last I am beside you
we embrace, we kiss
a kiss like no other

apparitions of the past
stalking ever nearer
silently watching
waiting for their time

I offer a choice
"stay with me,
or leave me to them"
tears run like rivers
you flee
evading me, evading them

I am there

asleep on a bed of darkness

no appartions of the past
no one stalking me,

no one watching
no one waiting

tearfully you describe the event

I take your hand
we lay together
embracing, kissing

I move atop you
my tongue tracing wounds
yet they are not yet there
cuts are made, rites performed
I feed, we kiss
