I am the drum.
I am the tum tum ta-tum.
My eyes are cymbals,
(are symbols),
slapping the empty,
spitting on melody.

Here’s a stick,
beat me.
Here’s a strap,
carry me.
Put your ear to the ground,
your heart on the floor.
Tum tum ta-tum
I am the drum.
I am the locomotive, chest-thumping, piston jumping, hard eight of your soul,
begging your savagery,
inviting your ignorance.
Tum tum ta-tum

With me
you fuck and howl and cry
and crawl
and god’s not coming to help you.

Tum tum ta-tum.
If you hear me,
here
me,
fear me.
I am the drum.
I am the drum.

I really like the rhythm of the poem,

which seems very snare drum-like. Very interesting idea and pretty well executed. I'd like to see you write more poems.

Well done! You say that poetry isn't your thing but you do yourself an injustice. I look forward to seeing much more from you

I really like this until the third stanza...then the tone changes quite a bit. It seems almost like two different poems.

But I really did like the first two stanzas. Good job!

Should have worked penguin in.

Damn, you didn't use any of bflagsst's seven forbidden words and he still gave you only 50%. Maybe he doesn't like the subject matter?
