He was young,
probably too young,
and the first love
of a physical kind.

Straddled, kissed,
kidded, completed,
drowned in ocean blues or
storm grays, so very deep,
much too deep to believe
after fourteen years.

Lost to me
so easily gone
struggle to hope
it would all come back.

Bronze skin so easy to touch,
copper locks so easy to grab,
still see him,
feel him,
know him
in my blood
after too many years.

Wish for that talk
with words half spoken
and thoughts shared
communication without sound,
and still dream
destiny could guide me
where I once thought,
"Oh, this is where I belong."
