I wrap her panties around my stock
glance at the bed-side clock
in the void, that midnight space
where we dream, forced to face,
The reality of who we are
how we ever got this far
I feel the texture, sniff her scent
lavender heaven sent,

We made a trade some time ago
swapped underwear on the go
a quick kiss and separate flights
mental video/sound bites,
Of our action, of our plight
fact and fiction late at night
then hotel coffee, CNN
promising to meet again,

We trade e-mails, photos too
tell the other what we do
enough details to salivate
hoping that we'll find a date,
To spend an hour (a day?) (a year?)
watch in some bedroom mirror
two strangers in a bedroom dance
again in each other's pants,
