Early Morning Desire

Darkness envelopes me
As I reach for you
A sad emptiness
Velvet shades of blue

A hand slides
Across the coolness
Of the sheets
Once warmed by you

My mind thinks back
Remembering
The feel of your body
Next to mine

A sigh escapes
My heart rate quickens
Lip curves up
In reminiscence

Two lives entwined
One yours, one mine
The heat of passion
A life long pyre

Your lingering touch
The hot wetness
Of your kisses
Upon my lips

I feel the tingle
Between my thighs
As I imagine
You there

That familiar ache
That reaches my soul
I my body wants you
Early Morning Desire

I reach instead
But it is not the same
I miss you lips
My lips inflamed

And in short time
I release my need
And remember OUR
Early Morning Desire

It is still dark
As I reach for you
My heart pounds still
But I feel less blue

With your memory
On my lips
A moistened fire
Early Morning Desire
