Early one morning
In the still of the night,
I came upon
A joyous sight.
It was my child
As he peacefully slept.
For some time during the night
Down the stairs he crept.
For he thought he'd see
Old Santa this night,
As he made his entrance
Thru the fireplace so tight.
But as he waited patiently
For that jolly old man,
Sleep had filled his eyes
And ruined his plan.
But early that morning
When he finally did wake,
He saw the presents under the tree
And quickly forgot his mistake...BWL
