First attempt at poetry. This is based upon a diary entry after my "How Old Are You" thread on the boards.

I told you I was eighteen.
You've seen a chink in my facade
I opened myself up to you
And now I wonder why

I am two halves
I am The Earl's gnawing sense of normality
He is everything I didn't think I had the courage to be
And now do the two halves still make a whole?

I said I was eighteen. Big Fucking Deal.
Yet I wonder
Two halves collide: reality and fantasy
Can I ever separate the two again?

Before I was just a checked gingham dress
Before I was just scrabble letters on a board
Am I just an immature child to you now?
I wonder if The Earl has survived.

Interesting

I think that shows real promise and no, The Earl was always in you, so separation could only be achieved by surgery!! Try it again, this time with less angst and more feeling, but then that's just my opinion.

Always good to see you strive for something different!

Nice one.
