The ice cold words hurt for a moment,
until I remembered they came from you.
Your bitter words mean so little,
just like your words of love.
I almost forgot your coward's heart
and the shallowness of your soul.
The conceit that one would exist solely to give to you
while you gave so little in return.
I almost forgot that you never tried to know me.
You cannot love what you do not know.
You are empty. The substance is not there.
So keep your anger and bitterness for yourself.
I remember who you are. I remember why I left.

Great elements to this one

This is your best poem, and with some cutting and polishing it could be a real gem.

I'm giving it a five, for the sparks of brilliance it contains.

Good word choices to express your anger and thoughts on your poetic "you". Now, try to write a poem about one particular memory that evokes these emotions in you and then explain that moment in a poem. Cut your words back and seek synonyms and phrases that say your thoughts in as few words as possible. In summary, attempt to find the essence of anger and emotional pain, distill it even further until it becomes a poem. Thanks for sharing and I hope you keep on making poems.
