Sweet home abandoned
Empty echoes of a life once known
Weaved amongst cobwebs, gossamer fine
Speckled dusty remnants float a sign
That once, within the walls, there was love
And laughter crystal bright, that danced
Sweeping corners, now darkly drawn
With gloomy dread to see a lonely dawn
Dirt glazed windows stare blindly
At plaster cracks yawning wide, crying
For tender care that kept it warm
Unloved, it is left bare to mourn
