Do you still
love me
or do you want
to be free?

“I thought that you knew
what would save us,”
is all that my lover’s
response was.

Do you
care
for me at all?
My lover’s avoidance
of my eyes
made my heart fall.

And if,
I don’t want to
let you go?!
A sad expression shook from side to side
telling me, “No.”

“I’m already gone.”
To these words, I jerked
with the glory of the dawn.

My hand reached out
to where lover
once slept.
So cold, now.
I hung my head
and wept.
