How did we arrive here
We've known each other
for so very long
But at this moment
all is different
Your touch is real
Your eyes say so much
I have never seen this face
Never touched this skin
Never held this gaze
The air itself has changed
My mind is perplexed
with what my heart seeks
The thoughts in my head race
But one caress from you
stills my very being
Our eyes rest upon
each others hearts
Afraid to look into
each others eyes
For that final gaze
will end all
and friends will
become lovers
