Suspicious eyes
overwhelming green
flash a jealous threat
words choking
a tender heart
who cares too much
she needs to leave
but craves his touch
though the loving embrace
quickly escalates
to a gripping grasp
disregarding protest
but desperate in need
she gets on her knees
when he starts to squeeze
she pretends it’s a hug

a thinking piece....

of which i come to focus on the last three lines:

she gets on her knees

when he starts to squeeze

she pretends it’s a hug

the first line is all about the proposal. the next two lines seem to me to imply a burden. that is my take of this particular spot of the poem. the ending doesn't punch me, it hangs in me. nicely done.....don
