Eulogy for Michael Brown

Michael played and sang
his simple songs of life
and each who listened felt
the song was meant for him.

Remember though art dust!

We sat and watched his fingers dance,
unfold a scene in chalk of black and white,
water colors in pastel hues,
and oils green and umber.

Remember thou art dust!

He made the green things grow
and flourish from his hand.
And all who knew and loved him
garnered beauty from his touch.

Remember thou art dust

To know Mike was to love,
to live a peace above.
Who lived among his charms
gathered life into her arms.

And unto dust--

This is not the Michael Brown of recent fame but an old friend, killed in the 70's, also by the cops.
