"You're so strong. You made it through"

They say these things without a clue

Yes, I'm sill here, but I'm not strong

Left wounded, bleeding far too long

My pain it lives inside my skin

On the outside looking in

I see this world from another angle

From the darkness, snared and tangled

Beneath the overgrowth of ugly layers

I'm all done crying.. unanswered prayers

My sickness hovers always near

Reminding me of what I fear

"Don't touch that mess, it will make you weak"

"The Beautiful don't need to eat"

I could not escape, so I embraced her

Now I cannot live without her

Sucking feeding depleteing my life

I defend, argue, and justify

On bended knee I bow in defeat

Porcelain skin, shiny, and clean

sour liquid bubbles from below

My sisters in this illness know.

Don't leave me friend, please stay with me

As I spread my wings, I'm finally free

Hold my hand as I sink under

Lighter than I ever wondered

On bended knee

The poem is about a woman with bulemia at least partially. So "on bended knee" and then "porcelain..shiny and clean" is symbolizing purging as well as the feeling of defeat. Dark and yet beautiful. Seems out of place on this amateur site, no?

Painful.

Again, NovemberBaby, expressive and emotional. Maybe when on bended-knee she is not defeated, but rather, unburdening herself.
