Walking down the same old streets.
Seeing the same old faceless people.
Nameless too they're all to me,
just like ghosts they might as well be.

Never growing, never thinking, never flinching,
never blinking.
Emotionless and cold like stone.
This is the world that I call home.

Blameless though myself I'm not.
Chances I've had to move my plot,
but every time I do refuse,
this faceless life instead I choose.

Many people don't have this choice,
I do and yet still I voice, my discontent
my unhappiness at living a life of loneliness.

So what does this say about me? Hypocritical?
Maybe.
Quick to say but slow to act,
forever stuck on the same old path.

So these the words of a broken man?
Someone who doesn't give a damn?
Broken, yes, without a care,
but certainly not beyond repair.

With just a little hard work
and a lot less self pity,
I got myself out of this heartless city.

So there you have it, there you see.
If you should find yourself in a rut like me,
don't give up and don't despair,
a better life awaits you out there somewhere.

So pick yourself up and dust yourself down,
put your worries and fears aside for now.
Out of the dark and into the light,
don't let it claim you, don't give up your fight.

My limited wisdom I've shared with you,
so use it well for it's all true.
For now my words have come to an end,
so all the best and good luck my friend.
